Strategic Marketer (£30k to £40k DOE)

For every industry and brand, there are limitless possibilities and routes for strategic direction. A good strategic marketer will know this, but a great one will recognise the clearest and most focused route to success. Reporting to Head of Strategic, you think beyond what’s in front of you, understanding what brands are trying to communicate, but also what the audience wants to see, think, feel and purchase. You see what others can’t, question what others don’t, challenge the status quo and strive to dig deeper at every possible touchpoint. You think, position, segment, strategise, analyse and – more than this – you learn, grow and adapt with every project.


We welcome big ideas and big-picture thinking, but we’re looking for someone who truly understands the customer journey and the commerciality of every strategic decision. Our clients have big goals and dreams, it’s your job to establish the best way to get there with the budget we have – making it go as far as possible, while being as effective as you can.


Your high-level thinking will be across multiple clients and projects. You’ll be the starting point for many B2B and B2C businesses, working with the wider strategy team to direct digital, traditional and multi-channel marketing plans. From 4-month sprints right through to a single email blast, you’ll make it your business to understand our client's and make your mark on every project possible. Your day-to-day:

  • Working both independently and collaboratively to undertake brand positioning exercises
  • Undertake client workshops, proposals and reports with the Head of Strategic
  • Feed into and establish short and long-term marketing strategies for clients across a range of industries
  • Work with key stakeholders to devise points of clear differentiation
  • Be a go-to for guidance for colleagues and clients
  • Help develop customer journeys, personas and key messaging
  • Brief in other teams on work to be executed, seeing that strategy is correctly delivered throughout the process
  • Track and analyse activity, monitor client competitors and confidently deliver recommendations
  • Understand different industry/market/audience needs and be able to deliver relevant/fit-for-purpose output
  • Use live and post-campaign insight to analyse and improve future activity

You need to:

  • Have at least 4 years’ experience in a strategic marketing role
  • Have or be working towards a CIM membership and qualification
  • Have a strong understanding of both traditional and digital marketing principles and strategies
  • Be able to demonstrate a proven track record in delivering successful strategies for either B2B or B2C (both is preferable)
  • Be results-driven and proactive in your approach, with the ability to keep your cool and handle multiple fast-paced projects
